In this project, we created a super-luxury playroom and adjoining bedroom suite for two young sisters. The brief was simple yet challenging: design rooms that feel magical today, but timeless enough to evolve gracefully as the girls grow into their teens.

The result is a pair of rooms that blend Victoriana charm with modern sophistication, where the innocence of play and fun meets the refinement of enduring design.

A Dream in Pinks and Taupes

This is a bespoke playroom that feels like a sitting room — refined enough for parents, yet filled with wonder for children. The soft interplay of blush pinks, creamy neutrals, and light oak gives the room a gentle, luminous quality — perfect for young imaginations.

A soft neon glow above the fireplace adds playful charm to an otherwise classic, grown-up interior.

The playroom sits at the heart of this family space — a light-filled room that feels both refined and inviting. A restored Victorian fireplace forms the focal point, it's intricate detailing balanced by a playful neon light installation above the mantel, bringing a modern twist to the traditional architecture.

The colour palette flows through gentle shades of pink, taupe, and cream, grounding the room in warmth and serenity. Custom-built light oak fitted cabinetry stretches along one wall, complete with arched bookshelves and a concealed TV. Opposite, a mini sink, a concealed fridge with clever storage and playful secrets — every detail designed for beauty and function.

Behind the cabinetry, a textured wallpaper creates depth and tactility, serving as an elegant backdrop for daily play and creativity.

Soft pink floral cushions, a self-patterned wool rug, and modern oak coffee tables create layers of texture and comfort, while floor-to-ceiling dusky pink drapes add height and drama to the space.

Flowing Into the Bedrooms

Leading seamlessly from the playroom, the girls’ bedrooms continue the same serene palette and classic detailing. “Our goal was to create a space that evolves — where play today turns into study tomorrow, and where every corner tells a story of warmth and grace.”

A Future - Proof Design Philosophy

Each room is individual, yet harmonised through materials and tone — designed to evolve from childhood to early teens without losing charm.

Freestanding furniture with light oak accents sourced from Italy, gives flexibility as the girls grow. Each room includes:

  • A dressing table that doubles as a desk, with shelving above for treasures and books.

  • A unit of drawers and cupboards offering generous storage.

  • Bedside tables and a central hanging pendant light, adding a soft glow and balanced symmetry.

  • The double beds are dressed with beige linen headboards and neutral bedspreads, grounding the space in quiet luxury.

  • Pale pink wall-to-wall carpets and dusty pink drapes complete the look — a subtle nod to sophistication.

  • On the walls, delicate framed artworks add personality and a touch of whimsy.

This project is more than just a children’s suite — it’s a study in enduring elegance. Every texture, colour, and piece of furniture has been chosen to adapt effortlessly as the girls grow.

By marrying classic detailing with modern practicality, the design captures the best of both worlds: the magic of childhood and the sophistication of timeless design.

Final Thoughts

These rooms are proof that children’s interiors can be both joyful, fun and sophisticated — spaces designed not just for the moment, but for years to come. Through a gentle palette, considered details, and a touch of playful luxury, we’ve created a home within a home — one that celebrates the art of growing beautifully.

“Designing for children is about capturing imagination — but doing it in a way that feels fun, enduring, and beautifully composed.”
