Bathrooms are private and special spaces where we begin and end our day, an experience to cherish. A calming, well-designed bathroom can enhance comfort, relaxation and your general well-being, an important room in your home to calm and inspire the senses. Different bathroom purposes require different design experiences. Below, you can see how we have transformed bland, poorly designed bathrooms into luxurious and unique areas to create our clients' desired experience in each bathing space.
Last month, we showcased the upstairs family bathrooms on our current project. This month, we focus on the master, guest and gym bathrooms situated on the first and ground floors of this magnificent Victorian property.
Come with Susan to see the existing Gym shower room and compare the new dramatic design below.
Existing Bathrooms
Below you can see the existing bathrooms. The spaces are poorly designed, there is a lack of cohesion and balance. The layout does not allow flow between areas and there is a lot of wasted space, inadequate storage and insufficient mirrors and lighting. A well-planned and designed bathroom should incorporate all of the below to create a calming, luxurious, unique, and functional bathing experience.
Gym Shower Room Renders
Smaller bathing areas where time spent is shorter allow for a different kind of experience. We created an invigorating and inspirational space with this dramatic shower room. Chocolate brown concave tiles add texture and a bold recessed wall cabinet with recessed back mirror lighting and dark metal finishes creates a stylish and unique bathing space. A dark colour palette in a small space creates a dramatic and luxurious effect.
Master Bathroom Renders
The Client wanted a calming, contemporary and elegant design. Layered lighting, backlit defogging mirrors, and dimmers add elegance and functionality. The floating vanity unit creates the illusion of more space with sleek mirrored storage and becomes the focal point of the space. The freestanding fluted sculptural tub stands against a stunning wall of book-matched large-format porcelain tile. The large shower enclosure with a rainfall shower head and built-in seat enhances comfort. Using functional mirrors with large-format travertine porcelain tiles on the remaining walls and floors in a soft neutral color palette adds to create a relaxing and calming bathing experience. We used a Spanish manufacturer, Inbani for the vanity unit, cabinetry and basins, and an Italian company Quadro for brassware.
Guest Powder Room Renders
Let's go bold!! The powder room is where you can make a big impact in a small space. We have used teal tiles in the recesses, an Arte "Camago" wall covering and colour-drenched all available surfaces using the Paint & Paper Library. Statement wall and floor tiles, a pendant by Bert Frank with a design punch, a Kast concrete basin and pedestal come together to create a luxurious and dramatic space, the wow factor, and an inspirational experience.
Consider the experience you wish to create in your bathroom. Is it a Spa-like retreat or bold and artistic? We hope you have a better understanding of how to create a luxurious bathing space in your home.
